Wayve to Raise $2 Billion at an $8 Billion Valuation

Wayve is a leading start-up at the forefront of developing artificial intelligence for autonomous vehicles and embodied intelligence. The company focuses on building a general-purpose AI brain for driving that can learn to navigate diverse, complex, and unconstrained environments simply through end-to-end deep learning, enabling rapid scalability across different geographies and vehicle types.
Wayve is reportedly raising $2 billion in a new funding round that would bring the company's valuation to $8 billion. The start-up is currently in talks with Microsoft and SoftBank for this funding injection. This follows previous significant investments from backers such as Nvidia and Uber.
Wayve, headquartered in London, England, United Kingdom, was founded in 2017 by Alex Kendall, Amar Shah, and Jeff Hawke. In 2024, the company joined the unicorn club. “There has never been a better time to invest in the U.K. – AI is unlocking new science and sparking entirely new industries. With new capital and advanced infrastructure, we are doubling down to empower the UK to lead the next wave of AI innovation,” said Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia.
