Fireflies Hits Unicorn Status at a $1 Billion Valuation

Fireflies.ai is an AI-powered meeting platform designed to record, transcribe, and organize conversations. Its solution automatically captures meetings across video conferencing tools and generates searchable, shareable notes. Widely used in business, education, and remote work, Fireflies.ai streamlines communication and boosts productivity across teams.
The company has now achieved unicorn status with a valuation of $1 billion following its first tender offer. Fireflies also announced a strategic partnership with Perplexity to launch “Talk to Fireflies” — a voice-activated feature that enables real-time web search during meetings, allowing users to access information without leaving the conversation.
Fireflies.ai, headquartered in San Francisco, California, United States, was founded in 2016 by Krish Ramineni and Sam Udotong. "We wanted to recognize our earliest employees who've been vital to Fireflies' journey," said Krish Ramineni, CEO and co-founder of Fireflies.ai. "Reaching this significant valuation milestone while remaining profitable validates our approach to building an AI company differently from the conventional 'raise big, burn fast' playbook. This coincides with a larger product evolution that will change how people experience meetings." Fireflies currently supports over 20 million users across more than 500,000 organizations worldwide, helping teams collaborate more effectively through AI-powered meeting solutions.
